Funnivac
Inspired by the chindōgu, Funnivac is a vacuum cleaner attachment that utilises colour, movement and sound to make the vacuuming experience more interesting.
Funnivac
Funnivac may be seen as a novelty product, but it allows the end-user to delve into deeper understanding of the notions of marketability and consumerism.
Chindōgu is often defined as seemingly useful yet unmarketable devices. For this project, I wanted to make a non-commercial design that excites our childlike wonder through sound, creation, and colour.

The internal structure of the Funnivac was inspired through reverse engineering a flute to split the air inside a vacuum, creating movement and sound.
Techniques such as additive manufacturing and part consolidation were used to produce a refined prototype.
